Celebrating Diversity Series

by Gabriela Urtiaga, MOLAA Chief Curator

Celebrating diversity and inclusion is a proposal created to share inspiration and experiences with you through art.

During this special time we are inviting some of the most relevant Latin American, Latinxs, Afro-Latinxs and Mexican-Americans artists to share with you their artworks, ideas, knowledge about the future, challenges, and share why Art is so necessary in order to build a diverse society.

This proposal seeks to accomplish this by paying tribute to artists who have worked in favor of gender diversity, pride, inclusion, acceptance, equity, and questioned stereotypes that govern social bonds and artistic codes.

This is a presentation of a constellations of creators and their voices – from Latin Americans and Latinx in the US and those around the world – united in their pursuit and respect of freedom.

The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA)

The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) was founded in 1996 in Long Beach, California and serves the greater Los Angeles area. MOLAA is the only museum in the United States dedicated to modern and contemporary Latin American and Latino art.
